Home The Spirit helps get the message across to God!

Ever have times that you wanted to say something to the Lord and don't know what to say?

Pray in the Spirit! Let your Spirit talk to God and keep your flesh out of messing up the conversation.

The Spirit knows what is needed and is best, it is there for you to intercede on your behalf.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

1 Corinthians 14:14  For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

Speaking in tongues is praying in the Spirit here in this example above.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Mark 14:38 Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly [is] ready, but the flesh [is] weak

Think of it this way, a child asks his Dad for permission to play in a dangerous area, all the child sees is fun things he can do (things to climb on and build a secret play house), not the elements that can bring harm or even death (deep hole in the ground - sharp object in the bottom).

In our understanding we often don't see the things that can push us back in our walk with God, and cause us harm.

Praying is to be done in secret between you and God. (in the car when we are by ourself, when we are alone, in a private area where it is just you and God.)

What you do in secret will be rewarded openly for all to see the glory of the Lord working in your life.

Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Ever observe a child that can talk start chattering in words that you can't understand? I believe the child's Spirit is talking to God.

You can Pray and Sing in the Spirit - it is a gift from God - Believe - He will even let you know what was prayed if you ask!

1 Corinthians 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

1 Corinthians 14:39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

1 Corinthians 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
